The Vidovec and Zdenc karst caves are located east of the village of Božakovo on the edge of the Bela krajina lowland karst. Božakovo is located on the edge of the river terrace above the high Magdalena wall of the deeply incised Kolpa river valley. There are a number of places worth visiting in the village; foremost is the baroque church of St. Mary Magdalene. The Zdenc spring cave with a statue of Our Lady of Lourdes is one of the best-kept spring caves in Bela krajina. The locals have dammed the small spring that flows from the cave below the village. The walled entrance conceals a 78m long spring cave. The Vidovec cave is 270 metres long and is also the longest water cave in Bela krajina which was formed by the subterranean course of the Vidovec spring.
